Know Thyself and Improve Your Self-awareness

How deep do you know about yourself? What are your preferences regarding gaining your energy, gathering information, making decisions, and organizing your life? Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom leading to your ultimate success.
Know Thyself and Improve Your Self-awareness

Why are some people happier than others? Why don't so many people enjoy their jobs, but others are fascinated about their jobs? Why do only a few people have clear visions about their life stories while others are always struggling with their lives?

Some people are just lucky since they know who they want to be at an early age, or some people are brave enough to try different things until they find what they love and make it a career.

On the contrary, I met a few people who either like or dislike their jobs because they have no idea what they like or who they want to be. Also, many people dislike their current situation, e.g., the job they have, the partner they are living with, or the coming future they don't even have the courage to envision.

My advice for those who are lost and struggling? Concentrate on who you are instead of what you ought to be and what you want to do, and the rest will fall into place.

Because the more you know about yourself, the better and clearer vision you will have about your life purpose, your job you'd love, and the partner you look for. Plus, if you know yourself deep enough, you will notice your strengths, what you can naturally do great, and your possible blind spots.

Let's say you are an extreme extravert. Probably, you are excited about being in a (large) group and talking more than listening. Should you consider a job that needs to be completed mostly by yourself and silently? Do you want to have a partner who enjoys talking and social events just like you, or do you want to have a partner who listens to you more than talks?

Once you start to know yourself, many questions become clearer and more transparent instead of a black box.

Do you know that we naturally notice information around us differently? Some of us concentrate on what can be seen, heard, felt, smelled, or tasted. They trust whatever can be measured or documented. Some people prefer naturally reading between the lines and looking for the meanings in all things. They tend to anticipate events and their consequences in the future.

Similarly, we also make our decisions differently. Some prefer to make decisions rationally and logically based on facts (meaning impersonally). In contrast, others prefer to make decisions based on personal values (or involving many person-related factors).

In terms of the life structure, some people tend to live in an orderly way and seek to regulate and control life. In comparison, others like to live spontaneously and are open to all kinds of possibilities.

Since we are so different in how we interact and direct our energy with the world, how we notice and gather information, how we make our daily decisions, and how we prefer to structure our lives, we naturally seek different lifestyles, working places, career paths, and perfect partners.

Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom leading to your ultimate success.
